About the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron

The Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron is the coupe-styled version of Audi's popular Q4 e-tron electric SUV. Built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, it shares its underpinnings with the VW ID.5, Skoda Enyaq Coupe, and CUPRA Born, but adds Audi's premium interior treatment and brand cachet.

The Sportback's sloping roofline gives it a lower drag coefficient than the standard Q4, resulting in slightly better efficiency and a few extra miles of range — up to 348 miles WLTP with the 77 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive. The 2024 facelift brought faster 175 kW DC charging (up from 135 kW), improved software, and a refreshed interior.

It remains one of the more affordable ways into Audi's electric lineup, and the MEB platform provides a solid, if not thrilling, driving experience. The boot is slightly smaller than the standard Q4 due to the roofline, but still practical at 535 litres.

What the press thinks

Reviewers consider the Q4 Sportback e-tron a solid if unexciting premium EV. The updated charging speed and improved software have addressed earlier complaints. The Sportback shape is considered more attractive than the standard Q4, though the price premium over MEB siblings is significant.
