About the Jeep Compass
The new Jeep Compass is the brand's first model built on Stellantis's STLA Medium platform, arriving with a choice of mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. The electric version marks a significant step up from the smaller Avenger, offering a properly family-sized mid-size SUV with genuine long-distance capability.
At launch, the electric Compass uses a 73.7 kWh battery with a single front motor producing 211 bhp, delivering up to 310 miles of WLTP range. A larger 97 kWh battery option arriving later pushes the range to an impressive 403 miles. DC charging at up to 160 kW allows a 20-to-80% charge in around 35 minutes, even on the larger battery. An optional 22 kW on-board charger speeds up AC charging considerably.
The STLA Medium platform gives the Compass a fundamentally different character to its predecessor. The ride is more refined, the cabin is better appointed, and the technology — including a large central touchscreen and digital instruments — is a generational leap forward. A 276 kW all-wheel-drive variant is planned for 2026.
The Compass shares its platform with the Peugeot e-3008 and Citroen e-C5 Aircross, but Jeep's rugged styling and brand identity set it apart. For buyers wanting an electric SUV with strong range and the Jeep aesthetic, the new Compass is a compelling proposition.
