About the Peugeot e-Rifter
The Peugeot e-Rifter is a fully electric version of Peugeot's practical leisure van, offering families a boxy, spacious alternative to conventional SUVs. Based on Stellantis's e-CMP platform with a 50 kWh battery, it shares its electric powertrain with the Citroen e-Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo-e Life.
With a WLTP range of around 170 miles, the e-Rifter is best suited to shorter commutes, school runs, and local trips rather than long motorway journeys. DC rapid charging at up to 100 kW tops the battery from 0-80% in roughly 30 minutes. Where it excels is interior space — sliding rear doors, a tall roofline, and a genuinely flat floor make it one of the most practical family vehicles in its class.
The driving experience is quiet and comfortable if not particularly exciting. It rides well and the near-silent electric drivetrain suits its relaxed character. Running costs are significantly lower than the diesel Rifter it replaces.
What the press thinks
Critics appreciate the e-Rifter's outstanding practicality, comfortable ride, and low running costs. Its limited range means it works best as a local family vehicle rather than a long-distance cruiser, but for urban and suburban families the sheer interior space is hard to match at the price.
