The BYD Dolphin is the Chinese manufacturer's affordable entry into international markets. Using BYD's in-house Blade Battery (LFP chemistry), it offers impressive value with aggressive pricing that undercuts most competitors.
The Blade Battery's LFP chemistry is exceptionally safe and can be charged to 100% daily without penalty — a real advantage for owners without home charging. Range of 211–265 miles WLTP is competitive. The interior is modern with a rotating 12.8-inch touchscreen.
The Dolphin is lighter than most EVs at 1,520 kg, which helps efficiency. DC charging is limited to 88 kW, which is on the slower side. Build quality is solid if not exceptional. For budget-conscious buyers, it's a compelling alternative to the MG4.
