About the Maserati GranTurismo
The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore is the electric variant of Maserati's iconic grand tourer coupe, and it represents the Italian brand's most ambitious step into electrification. A 92.5 kWh NMC battery powers three electric motors — one at the front and two at the rear — producing a combined 750 bhp and launching the car from 0–62 mph in 2.7 seconds.
The 800V architecture enables DC charging at up to 270 kW, making it one of the faster-charging luxury EVs available. Maserati has worked extensively on the sound experience, creating a synthetic engine note that adds drama without being intrusive. The chassis strikes an impressive balance between GT comfort and sporting agility.
With around 305 miles WLTP range, it's practical enough for genuine grand touring use. The GranTurismo Folgore competes in a rarefied space alongside the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT, offering more Italian flair and emotional appeal in exchange for a slightly less polished technology experience.
What the press thinks
Reviewers find the GranTurismo Folgore a characterful and desirable electric GT. The performance is breathtaking, the design stunning, and the sound engineering adds personality. Criticisms include the hefty weight, an infotainment system that lags behind German rivals, and a high price that limits its audience.
