About the Polestar 2
The Polestar 2 was one of the first serious Tesla Model 3 competitors and has matured into a genuinely compelling EV. Born from Volvo's engineering DNA, it combines Scandinavian design with a driver-focused chassis that's been praised by enthusiasts.
The Long Range Single Motor version delivers the best range at up to 406 miles WLTP — among the best in class. The Dual Motor variants offer strong performance with Öhlins dampers available on the Performance pack. Google's Android Automotive OS powers the infotainment, with Google Maps, Assistant, and the Play Store built in.
Multiple updates since launch have improved range, charging speed (now up to 205 kW), and the driving experience. The 2024 model year brought a refreshed interior and improved efficiency. It's a thinking person's EV — understated, well-engineered, and rewarding to drive.
What the press thinks
A refined driver's EV with Scandinavian cool. Reviewers praise the sharp handling, excellent Google-powered infotainment, and strong range. Downsides include a cramped rear seat, limited brand awareness affecting resale, and boot space that trails the Model 3.
