About the Vauxhall Grandland Electric
The Vauxhall Grandland Electric represents a significant leap forward for Vauxhall's EV ambitions. Built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, it moves beyond the adapted combustion-car architecture of its predecessor to a dedicated electric foundation that allows for much improved range, packaging, and charging capability.
The 73 kWh NMC battery delivers up to 326 miles of WLTP range, placing the Grandland Electric firmly in the territory of established mid-size electric SUV rivals. DC fast charging at 160 kW brings 10-80% in approximately 27 minutes, a meaningful step up from earlier Stellantis EVs. The 213 bhp motor drives the front wheels and provides confident acceleration without being overtly sporty.
Inside, the cabin has been thoroughly modernised with a panoramic curved display spanning two screens, improved materials, and a more premium feel than previous Grandland models. The boot is generously sized, and rear-seat space is competitive with the best in class.
The Grandland Electric competes directly with the Peugeot e-3008, with which it shares its platform, as well as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford Explorer, and Volkswagen ID.4. Its combination of range, charging speed, and competitive pricing makes it one of the strongest mainstream electric SUV propositions available.
What the press thinks
Reviewers commend the Grandland Electric for its strong range, improved interior quality, and competitive pricing. The STLA Medium platform is regarded as a genuine step forward for Stellantis. Some note the steering feel is lacking, and the ride can be unsettled on larger wheels.
