About the Maserati Grecale
The Maserati Grecale Folgore is the electric version of Maserati's compact luxury SUV, slotting below the Levante and competing with the Porsche Macan Electric and BMW iX. Built on a modified version of the Giorgio platform with 800V electrical architecture, it packs a 95.4 kWh NMC battery — the largest in Maserati's electric lineup.
With 550 bhp from dual motors, the Grecale Folgore delivers proper performance SUV credentials including a 0–62 mph time of 4.1 seconds. DC charging at up to 270 kW keeps it competitive with the fastest-charging rivals. Around 310 miles WLTP range makes it genuinely practical for daily use and longer journeys.
Maserati has tuned the Grecale's chassis to be sportier than most luxury SUV rivals, with adaptive air suspension and a focus on steering feel that's unusual in this segment. The result is an SUV that's more engaging to drive than many competitors, wrapped in Maserati's distinctive Italian design language.
What the press thinks
The Grecale Folgore impresses with its driving dynamics, strong range, and rapid charging. Reviewers appreciate the sportier character compared to German rivals. However, the infotainment system, limited dealer network, and uncertain resale values are common concerns.
