About the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake

The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is the estate version of the new electric CLA, built on the same MMA platform. It addresses a genuine gap in the market — there are very few electric estate cars available, and even fewer from premium brands. The Shooting Brake body adds meaningful boot space over the saloon while retaining the same 85 kWh battery and efficient drivetrain.

Range takes a very slight hit compared to the saloon due to the less aerodynamic roofline, but Mercedes still targets around 390 miles WLTP — an exceptional figure for an estate car. The practical boot space combined with class-leading range makes it uniquely appealing for families who need luggage capacity and the ability to drive long distances without frequent charging stops.

The Shooting Brake shares the CLA saloon's MB.OS infotainment system, advanced driver assistance features, and up to 250 kW DC fast charging. It competes in a segment with very few direct rivals, the closest being the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer and the upcoming BMW i3 Touring.
