About the Mercedes-Benz GLC

The all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC marks the electrification of Mercedes' best-selling model. Built on the same new MMA platform as the electric GLB but in a larger mid-size SUV package, it uses a 94 kWh NMC battery for up to 400 miles of WLTP range — placing it among the longest-range electric SUVs in its class.

The GLC has always been the backbone of Mercedes' SUV lineup, and the electric version retains the comfortable, premium character buyers expect. Fast charging at up to 250 kW is a significant advantage over older Mercedes EVs, with a 10–80% stop taking around 25 minutes.

Real-world range of 260–330 miles makes it practical for almost any journey. The interior features the latest MBUX system with a portrait-oriented centre screen and optional augmented reality head-up display. Available in single and dual-motor configurations, the electric GLC targets the heart of the premium mid-size EV market currently dominated by the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX3.

What the press thinks

The electric GLC is positioned as Mercedes' answer to the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX3. Early reviews highlight the impressive range, refined ride quality, and premium cabin. The MMA platform's fast charging capability is a welcome step up. Questions remain about pricing relative to less premium but equally capable rivals.
