About the Mini Aceman

The Mini Aceman fills the gap between the compact Cooper and the larger Countryman, creating a new crossover segment for the brand. Slightly shorter and lower than the Countryman, it offers a more city-friendly footprint while still providing genuine usability for small families or couples who want more space than the three-door Cooper.

Two battery options are available: a 38.5 kWh pack in the Aceman E with 190 miles of WLTP range, and a 49.2 kWh battery in the Aceman SE delivering up to 252 miles. Built on a platform co-developed with Great Wall Motor and manufactured in China, the Aceman uses NMC battery cells from CATL.

Inside, the signature round OLED display takes centre stage, and the cabin is trimmed with sustainable materials including knitted textiles. The Aceman feels distinctly Mini — playful, characterful, and compact without being cramped. Boot space is 300 litres, which is modest but acceptable for the class.

DC charging tops out at 95 kW, which is on the slower side for a 2024 launch. The Aceman is best suited as a stylish urban and suburban runabout rather than a long-distance tourer. It competes with the Volvo EX30, Smart #1, and Cupra Born.

What the press thinks

Reviewers enjoy the Aceman's funky design, characterful interior, and nimble driving. The OLED display is a highlight. Criticisms focus on the modest DC charging speed, limited boot space, and a price that edges into premium territory.
