About the Škoda Enyaq iV
The Skoda Enyaq iV was Skoda's first ground-up electric vehicle and one of the earliest mainstream EVs to arrive on the VW Group's MEB platform. Available as both an SUV and a sleeker Coupe variant, it quickly became one of the best-selling electric cars in Europe thanks to its combination of space, range, and value.
The original 2021-2023 Enyaq was offered with 58 kWh and 77 kWh battery options, delivering up to 348 miles WLTP. The sporty RS variant added dual motors and 299 bhp. DC charging peaked at 135 kW — competitive at launch but now surpassed by the updated model and newer rivals.
The Enyaq's trump card was always its interior. Substantially larger inside than the equivalent VW ID.4, with a more conventional dashboard layout that felt less futuristic but more user-friendly. The boot was one of the biggest in the class. It was updated significantly in late 2023 with faster charging and a revised design, making the original 2021-2023 model a strong used buy.
What the press thinks
The original Enyaq iV was widely praised as one of the most sensible and practical electric SUVs available. Reviewers loved the spacious interior, intuitive layout, and excellent value. Charging speed was adequate rather than exceptional, and the driving experience was comfortable but not sporty. It set the template that the Elroq and updated Enyaq have since built upon.
